BIMINI RENDEZVOUS

On April 28th, 2024, 12 Axopars carrying 56 Axoparians left Ft. Lauderdale’s Port Everglades for the beautiful island of Bimini in the Bahamas for Nautical Ventures 1st Annual Axopar Bimini Rendezvous. Following the lead of an Axopar 45 Sun Top, the group easily skipped over the 3-foot seas to make land in just over two hours. They were greeted by the turquoise green waters of this tropical archipelago and a long weekend full of friendship, food and fun.

Activities included a group regatta to the remote island of Honeymoon Harbor where the boats rafted up for a group photo. Nautical Ventures brought a variety of water toys for the group to enjoy including Flite boards, Seabobs, Schiller bikes, Jobe tow behind toys, Aquabanas, paddleboards and more.

A proper island bar-b-que was served with island tunes blaring courtesy of the world-famous Resolvers reggae band. The highlight of this island adventure had to be the feeding of nurse sharks and stingrays, where Axoparians hand fed and petted these ocean creatures.

The weekend was full of boating, beach, and fishing activities that culminated in a White Party on Bimini’s sandy white Radio Beach.

With the Axopar 45 anchored as a backdrop, partygoers were treated to an awesome buffet with an open bar, a Junkanoo Island band, a private fireworks display, and a DJ who kept the crowd dancing into the late hours of the night. A good time was had by all. No one wanted to leave. Everyone wants to come back.

The entourage got to enjoy the rhythm of Junkanoo dancers, who performed with musicians playing drums, horns, whistles, and brass instruments. The percussive sound of Junkanoo is indigenous to the Bahamas.
