Up close and personal - BMW Yachtsport choose Axopar as their ideal regatta support boat
Considered over other types of boat design as having the kind of qualities necessary to transform an average day out, in to a truly spectacular one, BMW Yachtsport's decision to go with Axopar as their ideal support boat, has been strategic to the success of each event.
BMW Yachtsport's high standard of customer care required boats that could guarantee their passengers protection from the potentially harmful and wearying effects of too much sun. After all, a full day out can be very tiring, and with changeable weather patterns and the unpredictable nature of the sea to consider, the requirement was for a combination of shaded cockpit Axopar T-Top and Sun-Top versions, and our latest fully enclosed Sports Cabin design.
The way by which an Axopar can get so close to the action is remarkable. With narrow-entry, deep v, twin-stepped hulls, every Axopar creates minimal wash and can turn on a dime, can accelerate effortlessly and above all, does so very quietly, so guests can hear the grinding of winches and the crack of sails above the skipper's voice as instructions are being called out to the anticipating crews.
Benefiting from a rapid 'hop on/hop off' access facility, other positive traits that caught BMW's attention were dry, stable, 'walk-around' decks with open-plan designs which meant that camera crews and film operators could move around quickly and capture the best possible shots from every conceivable viewing angle.
During the length of each race there's always more than enough cockpit seating and combined deck space / sun-pad space on an Axopar, for journalists to launch and retrieve drones, for example, or to sit down, edit and release live-stream reports more or less instantaneously, throughout the course of entire day.
The convenience of knowing there's a flushable toilet onboard, a wet-bar option and sociable seating around a fixed table position makes every Axopar a perfect regatta support boat choice.
