Your role as Accountant
In this role, you will be responsible for key accounting processes, including month end and year end closings, tax reporting, and cooperation with internal and external stakeholders. You will work closely with the Chief Accountant and play an important role in maintaining high accounting standards across the organisation.
Main responsibilities
• Performing General Ledger accounting activities, including accruals and provisions
• Accounting for fixed assets and leasing agreements
• Posting and reconciling payroll entries
• Posting accounting documents such as purchase and sales invoices, bank statements, and other financial documents
• Reconciling accounts and monitoring open and unreconciled items
• Active participation in month end and year end closing processes
• Preparing bank transfers and reconciling settlements with business partners
• Verifying purchase and sales registers prior to JPK submission
• Supporting preparation of tax calculations and tax returns (VAT, CIT, WHT and others)
• Supporting preparation of financial statements and external reporting (GUS, NBP and other institutions)
• Providing financial and tax related support to operational teams
• Monitoring changes in accounting and tax regulations and continuous professional development
• Performing other accounting tasks assigned by the supervisor within the scope of the role
Required education and skills
• Polish language is a must
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in accounting
• Secondary or higher education in accounting, finance, or economics
• Knowledge of Polish accounting regulations and tax laws (VAT, PIT, CIT)
• Practical experience in document posting, account reconciliation, and month end and year end closings
• Good knowledge of MS Excel
• High level of independence, accuracy, and responsibility
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Nice to have:
• Experience with full accounting books
• English language skills enabling work with financial documentation
