Dave owned his 28 T-Top for only 6 short months before upgrading to a 37 Sun Top and now with a 28 Cabin, so I think it is safe to say he has a bit of experience with Axopars. “With the twin outboards, the boat jumps on the plain before you can think about it… In the cabin with the doors slightly ajar you could hold a conversation at any speeds, even up to 38 to 40 knots. When at anchor if you open everything up there is a good flow for conversation across the boat.”

John, Axopar 37 Cross Cabin owner from Perth, says,

“I’ve got a family of three, twin girls who are seven and a nine-year-old, and it’s just the ideal family day boat. It’s very typical in the afternoon here to have strong southwesterlies, 15 to 20 knots. The kids get a bit cool, so I chose the Cross Cabin. It gives them protection, they have fun all day with the water toys, then come in to warm up, have something to eat, maybe rest on the daybed. It just allows us to have a full day of enjoyment without whiny kids at 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Mum and Dad are really happy too. We love our Axopar, it’s a great boat, a lot of fun, and ideal for Perth.”

Rob Hammond lives in Mandurah, Western Australia, and uses his Axopar 28 T-Top for everything from estuary dolphin cruises to offshore solo adventures to Rottnest.

“I’ve had boats for most of my working life. These are just phenomenal,” Rob says. “They’re absolutely fabulous in the sea. I use it quite a bit on my own — it’s really easy to manhandle. She’s so versatile, you can just do anything. I often go dolphin watching in the estuary. My wife loves it too because you’ve got full access all the way around. David and Jackie Rafferty from Perth were after a sports boat that could handle WA’s challenging conditions with speed, safety, and comfort, and they found exactly that in the Axopar 28 Cabin.

“It’s the best boat for WA conditions, which are pretty testing at the best of times. It doesn’t matter if there’s a strong sea breeze coming. We’ve come home in 25-knot southwesterlies and the boat was really comfortable. Everyone stays dry and safe. We just close the upwind door and leave the downwind one open, still get great airflow, but stay protected. The living space is like a Swiss Army knife of a boat. Everything turns into something else. It does the job really, really well.” – says David

After losing her husband, Jasmyn Wright took the helm of their Axopar 37 Sun Top, a boat he had carefully chosen for the family. Now a solo female skipper, Jasmyn continues to use the boat with her adult children for weekend getaways, water sports, and time together on the WA coast.

“I drive it, I berth it, I feel really safe, even in the unpredictable WA wind. It’s comfortable, it handles well, and it gives me the confidence to get out there on my own. We ski, we snorkel, we stay overnight, we even take it to Mandurah for the holidays. It really does everything. That’s why I say it’s the perfect boat for WA life. Honestly, I wouldn’t give this up for anything.”

“We’ve had boats before that got tossed and turned everywhere, but with the Axopar’s hull design, it just cuts through the water. You feel so much more stable and in control,” added son Kyle.

Jeremy was the first Axopar 37 Cabin owner in Western Australia, taking a leap of faith on a boat that wasn’t available locally at the time. Since then, his Axopar has become central to both his family life and business, from taking his kids on their first boating adventures to sharing the lifestyle with his staff.

“I took a bit of a risk buying this boat, there weren’t any in Perth. I bought it based on online reviews, then flew to Queensland to test drive one and it totally exceeded my expectations. I was blown away by how well it handled. I’ve had a few boats before, but their handling was unpredictable. With the Axopar, you know exactly what it’s going to do, which gives you confidence, my wife feels far more confident on this boat than any we’ve had before. It’s super soft riding, super dry, and a fantastic day boat. My boys all learned to drive on it. We take it offshore to Dunsborough once a year and cruise at 30 knots with no issue.
